Envision Conference Call For Presentations

Envision 2010 Program Submissions

Submissions for clinical and research sessions will be open October 12, 2009 through March 29, 2010 via the online submissions form. See Submission Guidelines for submission criteria.

Clinical Education

Clinical Education submissions incorporate practical information that low vision practitioners and educators need to succeed professionally and that encourages discussion of professional concerns and views. Submissions that are research oriented should be submitted to Research Presentations. Clinical Education submissions should include concrete examples and demonstrate the unique contribution and expertise of low vision practitioners and educators and should incorporate the principles of evidence-based practice. In addition, submissions are also reviewed for meeting Continuing Education accrediting criteria for AOTA, COPE, ACVREP, ACCME, ANCC, and CRCC.

The designated lead presenter of Clinical Education submissions (does not apply to co-presenters, or Research Presentations) will receive the following support from Envision:

  • Conference registration will be comped. (Pre-conference workshops not included).
  • Hotel reservation at the Conference hotel will be comped, up to a night before and a night after the day of the selected presentation submission.
  • Travel transportation expenses to and from the Conference will be reimbursed.
  • A $100 honorarium per hour of presentation submissions selected and presented at the Conference.
  • The lead presenter will sign a contract that specifies the details of this support, reimbursement, and remuneration.

Research Presentations

Anyone who is involved in the area of visual research may submit an abstract. This includes the professional and academic visual research community as well as applied psychology, nursing, low vision therapists, occupational therapists, and practicing ophthalmologists and optometrists. (See Vision Research on this website for guidelines). You may submit multiple first author abstracts. Submissions that are practice and educational oriented should be submitted to Clinical Education submissions.

Selected Research presentations will receive the following support from Envision:

  • Participants who are eligible to receive any registration waivers or financial incentives will be those who organize a full topical session consisting of 4-6 additional participants as speakers within the session.
  • Participants in the session, aside from the session organizer, do not receive any conference waivers or financial incentives.
  • Poster presentations are also not eligible for any waivers or financial incentives at this time.
  • Presenters interested in organizing a topical session and receiving support from Envision should contact Michael Epp, michael.epp@envisionus.com, 316-440-1515.

Presenters are encouraged to submit multiple proposals and may also submit to all categories: Clinical, Research, and Posters.

We will email you when the results of the peer review is known. You can view previous Envision Conference presentations at Previous Conferences.

Envision reserves the right to assign the day and time that accepted proposals will be scheduled.
