Envision Conference 2010 Keynote Speaker Announced

The Envision Conference is pleased to announce Kara Gagnon, OD, FAAO as this year’s “Excellence in Advocacy" Keynote Speaker. Dr. Gagnon currently serves as the Director of Low Vision Optometry at the Eastern Blind Rehabilitation Center, VA Connecticut Healthcare System where she has fourteen years of service. In her role serving as Chair for the National Low Vision Veterans Affairs Optometric Work group and the Chair of the Veterans Affairs Traumatic Brain Injury Optometric Work group, Dr. Gagnon is known for her low vision rehabilitation advocacy efforts on behalf of veterans impacted by traumatic brain injury. She has been recognized for this work with commendations from the Department of Veterans Affairs, an award from the National Blinded Veterans Association and an award presented by the former Secretary of Health of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Dr. James Peake. Her other respected professional activities and appointments include Executive Council Member of the Vision Rehabilitation Section of the American Optometric Association and Chair of the Brain Injury Committee of the Vision Rehabilitation Section of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Gagnon holds adjunct faculty positions with New England College of Optometry, Illinois College of Optometry, State University of New York College of Optometry and Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Envision Conference 2010 will Return to San Antonio

The mission of the Envision Conference is to improve the quality of low vision care through professional collaboration, advocacy, research and education. The focus of Envision 2010 will be "Excellence in Advocacy".

Envision Conference 2010 will be held Sept. 22-25, 2010, at the The Westin Riverwalk Hotel in beautiful San Antonio, Texas.

Welcome to the website for the Envision Conference, the comprehensive multi-disciplinary conference about low vision rehabilitation. At the Envision Conference, we convene the top experts in every field to discuss - and advance - the state of the art in low vision rehabilitation.

The Envision Conference is brought to you by Envision, a not-for-profit agency that provides vision rehabilitation services, public education and employment for persons who are blind or low vision.

We have programming for everyone with an interest in low vision rehabilitation, including optometrists, ophthalmologists, ACVREP-certified professionals, occupational therapists and low vision educators. You can earn the continuing education units, you need to stay current with your licensure or certification.
