In 2009, the Envision Conference will return to beautiful San Antonio. Located in the heart of Texas, San Antonio has been called “The Cultural Gateway to the American Southwest.” As the oldest city in the state, founded in 1781 as a Spanish settlement, San Antonio’s atmosphere is unlike that of any other city in Texas.

San Antonio’s most recognizable landmark, The Alamo, was the site of an 1836 battle in the Texas Revolution. Today, more than 2.5 million people visit this famous site each year, giving San Antonio the nickname “The Alamo City.” The rich history and unique culture of this area can also be seen through its vibrant art community that centers on the La Villita District in downtown San Antonio.

A must-see for any visitor to San Antonio is the Paseo del Rio, or River Walk, the city’s central entertainment district. The River Walk is a pedestrian walkway, lined with hidden gardens, unique shops, and waterside cafes. It is also the center of San Antonio’s nightlife with many bars, pubs, nightclubs and restaurants. Stroll the Paseo del Rio or take a boat down San Antonio River as it meanders through downtown a full story below the rest of the city; take in the unique atmosphere, peppered with local flair, which has made it an integral part of the city’s urban fabric.

After a busy day of meetings at the Envision Conference, there will be much to do and see in San Antonio, day or night. We look forward to seeing you in our host city, San Antonio!
